In Coimbatore district, a wild elephant caused significant damage by breaking into a residential area near Thondamuthur. The elephant, which has been roaming around Thadagam, Mangarai, Thondamuthur, Marudamalai, and other areas, has been creating disturbances for the past 10 days. Two days ago, it injured a temple priest and tragically killed a young man who tried to chase it away.
Recently, the elephant entered the town of Mathipalayam late at night. It broke the gate of a house and, while trying to cross the compound wall, caused the wall to collapse. The incident was captured on video by local residents and has since been shared widely.
