The arrested person Gnanasekar in the Anna university issue is only a party member and not a functionary. So, it is not good to blame the DMK and government on the subject, said Housing Minister S Muthusamy.
He laid foundation for 10 development works, costing Rs 3.65 cr, in Erode Corporation on Thursday.
Talking to newsmen he said that the HC judges said that many came to take photos with them and said that seeing some persons in the photos with the VIPs cannot be considered as they were close to VIPs.
So, Gnanasekar should also be considered under that yardstick.
Police investigation was going on in right direction and the said person was held immediately. So, there is no need to seek CBI probe. It is natural that BJP, ADMK and some parties rake up Anna university issue. Considering the sensitiveness of the issue only the stirs in this regard were not allowed.
He said the development works were regular and not related to Erode East bypoll, he added. MP KE Prakash, Mayor Nagarathinam Subramaniam, commissioner Maanish, city chief engineer Vijayakumar, and many officials and partymen attended the function.
