Erode District Collector Rajagopal Sunkara said that a target of Rs.1109 crore has been set to provide loans to women's self-help groups this year.
A review meeting on the activities of Mahalir Project and Vazhnthu Kattuvom Project was held at the District Collector's Office.
He said that last year, Rs.840 crore was decided as a loan target for women self-help groups and provided. A target of Rs.1109 crore has been set to provide loans to women self-help groups in the current year.
Erode district excels in debt repayment. Women's Self Help Groups should increase their business opportunities and improve their livelihood.
In the meeting, Assistant Collector (Training) Ramakrishnasamy, Director of Women's Program J. George Anthony Michael, District Executive Officer (Vazhnthu Kattuvom Project) Satish Kumar and others participated.
