Royal Care Hospital recently organised a one-day workshop titled 'Stepping Forward to Promote the Safety of Medical Devices: Materiovigilance Program of India' at Gokulam Park Hotel. The workshop aimed to shed light on the recurrence of adverse events associated with the use of medical devices, which often lead to prolonged hospitalisation.
Discussions during the workshop emphasised the importance of implementing a vigilance system to record feedback from patients and users. Dr. K Madeswaran, Chairman of Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital, speaking at the event, highlighted the workshop's objective of sensitising healthcare professionals, manufacturers, importers, and distributors of medical devices to better understand risk management and the safety of medical devices. The significance of technology in healthcare was stressed during the discussions.
