KASC organises a workshop on Modern Literary Theory

The PG Department of English (Unaided) at Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, recently organised a One Day International Workshop on "Theory to Praxis in Research: Demystifying the Modern Literary Theory and its Applications held on March 11. The event attracted 85 participants, including students, research scholars, and faculty members from various institutions across Coimbatore, Kerala, Erode, and Tirupur.

The workshop featured Dr. Manu Mangattu, a Visiting Professor at Harvard, Poet, Research Consultant, and Publishing Expert from Hyderabad, as the Resource Person. The inauguration ceremony commenced at 10:30 am in the Seminar Hall of KASC with the traditional lighting of the lamp.  Dr. Manu Mangattu delivered the keynote address.

The workshop comprised two technical sessions. In the first session, the guest speaker elaborated on various approaches to literary theories and criticism. The second session delved into practical aspects, focusing on how to approach a literary text with theory, the implementation of literary theory in analysing texts, and an overview of cultural studies.

The valediction of the program took place at 4 pm. This was followed by the distribution of certificates, a feedback session, and a moment for participants to capture selfies to commemorate the event.
