Discrepancies in the GST and food safety laws should be completely removed, Tamil Nadu Federation of Merchants Associations state president Vickramaraja has demanded. 
The Federation held its state level Merchants  liberation slogan conference on the occasion of 41st Merchants Day at Madurai on May 5.
Ministers Murthy, Anitha Radhakrishnan, Poet Vairamuthu (photo) , Association Chief Secretary Prof R. Rajkumar, General Secretary V. Govindarajulu, Treasurer A. M. Sadakathullah, media coordinator Pandianrajan, Additional Secretary V. P. Mani, and many administrators 
were present.
The following resolutions were passed: 
All toll plazas,  dual pricing policy and corporate dominance in online trade should be removed,  one country one tax slogan should be enforced, taxation on audited accounts should be avoided, government insurance scheme should be ensured for traders loss during natural calamity, southern districts should be linked with delta district through passenger trains etc.
About 4000 traders from Erode led by the Erode district president of the federation R.K Sanmugavel, District Secretary P. Ramachandran, District Treasurer Udayam P. Selvam attended the meet. State publicity responsibilities for the conference were taken up by Erode District and Youth wing Secretary Lawrence Ramesh and SKM Balakrishnan, in-charge of the district IT wing, did the job effectively.
