SurveySparrow, a leading experience management platform, has launched its "EmpowHer" initiative, which aims to empower young women with essential menstrual care. The initiative, under its CSR wing, SparrowCare, has installed 12 sanitary vending machines across eight schools in Chennai, marking a significant step towards empowering young women. The initiative aims to address the 'period poverty' condition, where millions of women worldwide have limited access to sanitary products, contributing to health risks and amplifying social stigma. SurveySparrow's "EmpowHer" initiative provides free, accessible menstrual hygiene products to students in need, enabling them to attend school consistently and actively participate in their education.
In partnership with the Women's Education and Economic Development Society (WEEDS), SurveySparrow identified schools in rural areas of Chennai lacking proper sanitation facilities. This collaboration underscores a shared vision for enhancing women's health and education, aligning with global efforts to support female empowerment. SurveySparrow's "EmpowHer" is just the beginning of a sustained effort to support and empower women across various communities, aiming to raise awareness that menstrual hygiene is a fundamental right and not a privilege. As the world celebrates International Women's Day, SurveySparrow's initiative serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to support gender equality and women's health.
