Kongunadu Arts and Science College (KASC), Coimbatore, organised the Youth Conclave in collaboration with Ramakrishna Math, Tanjore, and the Vivekananda Study Circle.
Dignitaries, including Swami Vimurtananda Maharaj, were honored, with a special gesture from Artist Ravivarma, a Computer Science student, who presented hand-drawn portraits of the guests. Dr. V. Sangeetha, Principal, welcomed and Dr. C.A. Vasuki, the Secretary and Director of the college delivered the presidential address.
The inaugural session featured a visually challenged student, Sriram, sharing a motivational quote. Swami Narasimhananda Maharaj from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode, emphasized self-confidence, ambition, and goal-setting as key to realizing one’s potential.
Students Ravivarma and Induja, Kamal Sathya, Dr. R. Seetharaman, former CEO of Doha Bank, Qatar, spoke.
Swami Vimurtananda Maharaj explored the practical applications of Vivekananda’s teachings.
The fourth talk by Prof. Dr. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras gave an insightful and inspiring session on the topic "Challenges in Attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).''
He inspired students to actively participate in India’s journey toward achieving the SDGs by 2047. He emphasized that the collective efforts of today’s youth can lead to a brighter, more equitable, and sustainable future for both the nation and the world. This thought-provoking talk left the audience motivated to embrace their role as agents of change and contribute meaningfully to global progress.
Swami Vivekananda’s portrait and a handbook were distributed to all the participant by Swami Vimridhananda Maharaj. Ezhil, a student of 3rd Chemistry, proposed the vote of thanks.
