Southern Railway is operating 239 trips of special trains in 19 routes to clear the extra rush of traffic owing to Summer season 2024. These special trains interlink the states of Tamil Nadu & Kerala serviced by
Southern Railway with Karnataka, Rajasthan, Bihar, New Delhi, West Bengal, Gujarat etc. Some of the special trains are also operated within the zone connecting the Southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
Vande Bharat Special trains:
For the convenience of passengers, Southern Railway is operating Vande Bharat special trains to clear the extra rush of traffic during summer. These special trains are operated between Chennai Egmore and Nagercoil Election special trains: SR also announced Election special trains for the benefit of passengers to destinations such as Kanniyakumari, Whitefield, Tirunelveli, Tiruchchirappalli and Tuticorin. Besides these many suburban trains are being operated.
