Ahead of the South West monsoon, Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Priya Thanneru inspected the disaster response tools and equipment to be used by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Fire Safety Department on August 2. She engaged with officials to understand the usage of these tools.
Speaking to the media, the district collector stated, “The Chief Minister has been closely following and receiving updates on the preparedness of Nilgiris ahead of the South West monsoon. The district management is working alongside several departments, including revenue and disaster management, police, forest department, and fire safety department. Seventy-four personnel from the State Disaster Response Force have been deployed in various regions of the district and are ready to face any challenging situation. Additionally, 31 personnel from the National Disaster Response Force have also arrived in Nilgiris.”
Additional Superintendent of Police Soundararajan, Revenue Officers Maharaj, Sathish, Senthil Kumar, NDRF Deputy Commandant Sridhar, Udhagai Tahsildar Saravana Kumar, Disaster Management Officer Gayathri, and Executive Officer of Naduvattam Municipal Corporation Pradeep participated in the event.
