The Nilgiris Electoral Officer and District Collector, M Aruna, organised a consultation meeting on Thursday with officials involved in the upcoming vote counting for the June 4 elections, which will take place at Udhagai Polytechnic College in Nilgiris.
During the meeting, District Collector M Aruna confirmed that the vote counting will commence at 8 AM on June 4. She emphasised the importance of securing the vote counting centre with adequate police protection. Additionally, she reviewed and ensured the provision of basic facilities at the centre, including drinking water, washrooms, fire safety measures, ambulance services, and a reliable electricity supply.
Collector Aruna also instructed the vote counting officials to adhere strictly to the guidelines and perform their duties diligently. The meeting was attended by District Superintendent of Police Sundaravadivel, Additional Collector Koushik, Nilgiris Municipality Commissioner Egaraj, and other government officials.
