The newly-appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) of Tiruvannamalai, Dr. Sudhakar, has pledged to eradicate drug trafficking and criminal activities in the district. Dr. Sudhakar, who previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Parangimalai in Chennai, took over from SP Prabakar, who was transferred last week.
Upon assuming office, Dr. Sudhakar addressed reporters, stating that law and order, crime prevention, and basic policing would be his top priorities. He emphasised a zero-tolerance approach towards drug-related activities, assuring that swift police action will prevent such incidents from occurring.
As the Karthigai Deepam festival approaches at the famous Arunachaleswarar Temple, SP Sudhakar also assured that comprehensive security arrangements will be in place to ensure the safety of pilgrims and tourists. Additionally, steps will be taken by the traffic police to manage congestion across the district during the festival.
He warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in criminal activities or law violations. Dr. Sudhakar reaffirmed his commitment to working with integrity and fairness in maintaining law and order in Tiruvannamalai. Senior police officials, including Additional SPs, DSPs, and Inspectors, welcomed the new SP and wished him success in his role
