Vellore Naruvi Hospital and Adyar Ananda Bhavan Group will conduct free heart surgery for 10 children between the ages of 5 and 15 years who are suffering from heart disease, said Naruvi Hospital President Dr. G.V. Sampath and Adyar Ananda Bhavan Group Managing Director K. D. Srinivasa Raja.
In a press conference held at the hospital premises, they further said: The hospital was started 4 years back. More than 3000 patients suffering from heart disease have been given angio and cardiac surgery. It plans to provide free heart surgery for children between 5 to 15 years. The Adyar Ananda Bhavan Group is bearing the entire cost of this surgery under the CSR Fund Scheme.
At present, they have set aside Rs 40 lakh rupees for this. Children suffering from cardiac disease from Vellore, Iranipet Tirupattur and Tiruvannamalai districts who want to avail this opportunity should belong to a family below poverty line. For this, people can approach the hospital with a certificate from the VAO along with details of previous heart disease checkups. A medical team consisting of Dr. Ray George, Dr. Iswara Karthik, Dr. Jafar, headed by Dr. Vinayak Shukla, Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery, will examine the affected children and recommend them for cardiac surgery.
