Inaugurated Aadhar registration and Aadhaar number update special camp in Pongalur B.V.K.N.school
on Monday. Tirupur District Collector Tha. Christuraj presided. Information Minister said: Minister of School Education on 23.02.2024 inaugurated a special camp for Aadhaar registration and Aadhaar number updating for students in their schools. On the first day of the opening of schools on Monday, the program has been launched in all districts for Aadhaar enrollment and Aadhaar mandatory biometric updating in school premises in coordination with ELCOT and Integrated School Education program. There are a total of 1,862 schools in Tirupur district. Out of which 1,331 are government schools, 82 are government aided schools and 449 are functioning as private schools. A total of 4,35,890 students studied from LKG to 12th in the academic year 2023-24. Out of these about 25,000 students have not received Aadhaar number and 87,000 students have not had their biomatrics updated. Hence, Aadhaar registration and Aadhaar number update work is being started in 14 Unions in the district.
