KMCH arranges cervical cancer camp

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among Indian women. Cervical cancer is caused by a virus called Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). 

  

KMCH Hospital (Avinashi Road) is conducting a Cervical Examination Camp from Jan 18 to Feb 17 to create awareness among women. Examination in this camp is done at concession fee. And the consultation of a cervical cancer specialist is free.

This Camp offers HPV testing / Pap smear testing as well as HPV Vaccines at a very low cost.

Who can attend the camp?

Women above 25 years of age are eligible to attend. All women with symptoms such as irregular or heavy menstrual bleeding, bleeding after menopause, unexplained weight loss, persistent pain in the lower abdomen, bleeding after intercourse, vaginal discharge or discharge with foul odor, unexplained loss of appetite, continuous bleeding between periods, etc. must make use of this chance to rule out any cancer related change.

Dr. Arun Palaniswami, Managing Director, KMCH said that the hospital is regularly conducting this type of camps to create awareness among women.
