Ramanathapuram Police Inspector Shekhar hoisted the national flag at the 24th Independence Day function organized by Jolly Friends Charitable Society. Following this, various competitions were held for boys and girls. More than 300 people participated in various competitions like running race, sack competition, lucky corner etc.
Awareness was created about the need for continuous tree planting and saplings were also provided.
Later in the evening, snake conservation activist Sanjay created awareness about the safety of snakes and how people should be safe from them. Then Ghana Inband sang awareness songs.
Thirukkural competitions were held and the prize giving ceremony was held.
AIADMK Rights Recovery Committee Ramanathapuram regional secretary Puli Kicha alias Krishnamurthy, AIADMK student in-charge Vinod Annai Dasan and social activist Sathyan gave gifts and encouraged the boys and girls.
The following events were organized by the Jolly Friends charity team including Rahmatullah, Arudiyaraj, Anthony Kurush, Mohan Prabhu, Saravanan, Kemila Arogyaraj and Aji.
