Huge turnout was seen in Makkaludan Mudalvar camp held at Erode Ashram School for the wards 58,59,60 in Erode Corporation zone IV.
The zone president Kurinji Dhandapani and assistant commissioner T Krishnamurthy said ``as over 18 departments attend each camp and record the grievance petitions then and there there is much hope among people that their grievances would be attended suitably within 30 days as assured by the CM under the scheme.
Of 100 petitions, 30 percent only corporation relate civic issues and rest were relate to other departments. Many apply for Mahalir Urimai Thogai Dhittam. The EB and corporation attend name transfer issues easily in the camp.
The property tax assessment issue will be dealt after an inspection. Some apply for house site pattas which is dealt by revenue department.
As the zonal council has powers to sanction works upto the value of Rs 10 lakh, civic issues like roads, ditches and drainages could be attended within 30 days. The medical camp with 2 doctors is more useful to public, they added.
Councillors Gunasekaran, Sakthivel, Dhandapani, engineers Senthamarai and Palanivel attended the camp.
