Erode SP K Jawahar took part in the late CM Kamarajar birthday celebration in the government model school at Perundurai on Monday.
In his speech, he said that though he (Jawahar) was born in ordinary family he worked hard to study in the NIT Tiruchi and then attended civil service exam. Similarly, students of the school can become government officials by planning and attending competitive exams. He gave some tips to get success in the exams.
The school principal K Vijayan said that all 139 students appeared in the plus 2 exam got success and one among them-Udayakumar (mark 569 in plus 2) got success in NEET. All of them were pursuing higher studies and a few were selected for higher studies in Japan (gokulakrishnan), Taiwan, China (Monica and Divya), NIT, Azim Premji Institute etc
On the model of a model school established by Kejriwal government in Delhi, our TN CM established the model schools in all 38 districts in the state with giving free education, boarding and lodging facilities for meritorious students who passed national merit scholarships exam in 8th std and toppers in school class tests.
From 9th to 12th, the classes were conducted here with giving special coaching in sports, music, NEET, JEE exams etc.
The school was functioning in rental building and Collector is keen to find suitable government land to build own buildings for the school, he added.
