Consultation on Khelo India sports events

Mr.J.Meganatha Reddy, Member Secretary, & Youth Welfare, Director, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), presided over a consultation meeting on the  Khelo India sports meet at the Coimbatore Collectorate on Thursday.
In the meeting District Collector Krantikumar Padi, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ma.Sivaguru Prabhakaran, Coimbatore International Airport Director Senthil Valavan, District Collector PA (General) M.Kokila , District Sports and Youth Welfare Officers  S. Aruna,  Raghu and many others were present. 
Mr. J.Meganatha Reddy said, Khelo India Youth Sports Competitions is an integrated sports event organized by the government with an aim to promote sports and fitness.  Based on the action taken by the Chief Minister, the Union Government has approved the holding of the Khelo India Youth Games 2023 in Tamil Nadu. 
Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority has taken all the steps to organize the Khelo India Youth Games in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Trichy in Tamil Nadu from 19.01.2024 to 31.01.2024 in cities.
28 types of competitions will be held. In Chennai, athletics, football, boxing, fencing, volleyball, weightlifting, squash, archery, judo, table tennis, badminton, cycling, yoga, wrestling, hockey, swimming, gymnastics, tennis, shooting, kabaddi and cymbals (demo) will be held. Some events will be held in Madurai, Trichi and Coimbatore, he added.
