Coimbatore District Election Officer / District Collector Mr. Kranthi Kumar Padi led a two-wheeler rally attended by more than 150 differently-abled persons to create awareness about 100 percent voting in the Parliamentary Lok Sabha General Election. 

The rally started from District Collectorate and reached Thomas Park. Diffabled Welfare Officer Mr. Jagatheeshan and many government officials attended. Various special awareness efforts are being made to achieve the target of 100 percent voter turnout in the district.

They are: voter awareness advertisement banners, posters, pamphlets, signature drives, short films, awareness rallies, rangoli kolams, giant balloons, t-shirts, caps, wall paintings etc. Accordingly, a serial run (marathon) was held from Coimbatore - Pollachi National Highway to Echanari with revenue officials and college students to insist on 100% voter turnout. 100% voting awareness for passengers traveling by Coimbatore intercity train at Kinathukkadavu railway station, leaflets were distributed. Leaflets were issued to the public urging 100% voter registration in the polling areas where the voter turnout was less than 50% in Sundakamuthur village of Thondamuthur Assembly Constituency. Also, election awareness leaflets were pasted in the houses in the area and awareness was created.
