Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Zonal Joint Commissioner office building in Vengikkal village, Tiruvannamalai district, at an estimated cost of Rs. 3 crore. He also initiated the construction of an integrated cow complex near Niruthi Lingam on the Girivalam path at a cost of Rs. 2.95 crore. The ceremonies were conducted through a video presentation from the Chief Secretariat of Tamil Nadu, with District Collector Bhaskara Pandian performing the Bhumi Pooja to mark the beginning of the construction. The event was presided over by Dr. EVVe Kamban, Vice President of the State Athletics Association.
These projects are part of a larger initiative announced during the 2022-23 grant request in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, where the Minister of Hindu Religious Charities pledged to construct new office buildings for five Joint Commissioner offices currently operating out of private buildings, at an estimated total cost of Rs. 15 crore. The office building in Vengikkal will be constructed on a 30,000 sq ft plot belonging to the Arulmigu Pillayar Ammasar temple.
Attendees at the foundation stone laying ceremony included Arulmiku Arunachaleswarar Temple Joint Commissioner Jyoti, Tiruvannamalai Union Committee President Kalaivani Kalaimani, City Council President Nirmala Karthik Velmaran, and other local government representatives and departmental officials.
