After years of dedicating themselves to serving our nation, military veterans often bring their diverse skillsets and unwavering dedication to new fields. Their skills in leadership, mental agility and problem-solving under pressure are invaluable assets in any field. Recognizing this potential, Amazon became one of the pioneers by launching the Military Program in 2019, a dedicated initiative designed to help veterans seamlessly transition from their distinguished service to the dynamic corporate world. This transformative program with its personalized support and tailored training, has empowered many military veterans like Gautam Mohan, who leveraged his expertise honed in the Indian Army to excel in multiple roles at Amazon.

Reflecting on his corporate and armed forces experience, Gautam shares, “Trading sand dunes for meeting rooms, my military expertise found fertile ground at Amazon. Stepping out of my comfort zone to work in the corporate sector, I have grown professionally and am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way." Gautam appreciates the innovative and risk-taking mindset of Amazon's leaders, making it an exciting workplace. He adds, ‘’That's exactly what Amazon's Day 1 culture is all about. That's the kind of environment where veterans thrive, where our skills become superpowers."

Amazon’s impactful Military Program has not only empowered veterans to thrive but also enriched Amazon's culture with diversity, resilience, and a passion for excellence. Amazon India partnered with the offices of the Director General of Resettlement (DGR), the Indian Naval Placement Agency (INPA), the Indian Air Force Placement Agency (IAFPA), the Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO), and most recently, with the Indian Coast Guard to ensure that those leaving military service are aware of the plethora of meaningful work opportunities at Amazon throughout the country.
