The District Electoral Officer and Tiruvannamalai Collector D Bhaskara Pandian has appointed ambassadors to raise awareness among first-time voters, as part of an initiative to promote voting.

In a meeting held at the Tiruvannamalai District Collector's office, steps were taken to engage 46,454 first-time voters in the district. These voters were contacted via telephone to stress the significance of participating in the upcoming Parliamentary election on April 19.

Anganwadi staff played a crucial role in reaching out to these young voters, encouraging them to exercise their right to vote and ensure a 100% voter turnout on election day. The District Electoral Officer and Collector personally emphasised the importance of voting to these first-time voters, addressing any doubts or concerns they may have had about the electoral process.

Election Awareness Ambassadors were appointed to educate first-time voters on how to cast their votes using the Model Voting Machine.

The meeting was attended by Arani Electoral Officer and District Revenue Officer Dr. M Priyadarshini, Additional Collector (Development) SA Rishab, and other government officials.
