Transport Minister Sivasankar inaugurated 27 new luxury buses and launched the Magalir Vidiyal Payanam scheme at a special event held at the Sulur bus stand. During the event, he also handed over appointment letters to the family members of 32 transport department employees who passed away while in service.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the welfare initiatives of the state government. “The Chief Minister has distributed welfare funds amounting to Rs. 380 crores to retirees and the families of deceased employees. He has also assured action to release the pending welfare funds,” he said.
The event was presided over by Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji and attended by Coimbatore Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, Coimbatore Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandran, Commissioner Sivaguru Prabakaran, Deputy Mayor Vetrichelvan, Sulur Municipality President Devi Mannavan, Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Coimbatore) Managing Director Selvan, Former MLA Dinakaran, and General Manager Selvakumar, among others.
