Rs 570.74 crore worth of turmeric sold per annum at Erode

 Housing Minister S.Muthusamy said that turmeric worth around Rs.570.74 crore is being sold annually through the farmers producers company and cooperative societies in the district.     On behalf of the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agribusiness, a training program for Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Karur, Namakkal, Salem and Dharmapuri districts held on Friday 
He said various schemes are being implemented by the Department of Agriculture Sales and Agribusiness in accordance with the policy of double the yield and triple the income of ryots.  Through this sector, the farmers are integrated and the farmers producers companies are established.Technical experts provided advice on topics including commodities, opportunity for entrepreneurs, opportunity for agribusiness entrepreneurs, integrated pest management, role of Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India in exports, role of Erode Sales Group in Turmeric, export opportunities etc
