The lighting of the lamp ceremony was led by S Shankar Ganesh and Shanthi Ramalingam, Ward Council Members of Porur. The first sale was conducted by T Kaliyasundaram, Deputy Commissioner of Police, SRMC Range, Porur, and the first purchase was made by S Kumaresan Swaminathan, owner of Nathan Arcade.
