Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, MRK Panneerselvam, attended the State-level Farmers' Day function at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, where he inaugurated a new crop exhibition. During the event, the minister also presented the prestigious Velaan Chemmal awards to distinguished farmers in recognition of their contributions to agriculture on September 26.
Minister of Information and Publicity, MP Saminathan, was also in attendance. He launched a book collection focusing on rural women entrepreneurs and young achievers in agriculture, highlighting the significant role of women and youth in the agricultural sector. Additionally, he presented the new crop collection to the farmers, further supporting their efforts in advancing agricultural practices.
The event was graced by the presence of District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, Pollachi MP Easwaramoorthi, Coimbatore Mayor Ranganayaki, University Vice-Chancellor Geethalakshmi, Chief General Manager of Nabard Bank R Anand, and other officials, making it a significant occasion for the state's agricultural community.
