Kongunadu Vettuvagoundars Samuthaya Munnetra Sangam and Ilaignar Ani appealed to the government to hold caste wise census.

The sangam state founder treasurer Vazhavandhinadu K Saravanan, president K Ravikumar, general secretary NS Ramamurthy, district functionaries EVS Vijay, Kongu Madhesh, Koundi Mani, Thennarasu,  AKM Karthi, and Kadirvel presided over the State Executive Committee meeting held at Erode on Sunday.

The EC thanked the CM for announcing King Immudipattathu Allala Ilayanaikkar's birthday on Thai 1 as government function. It pleaded to name the Jedarpalayam check dam built by the king across the Cauvery river in Namakkal district after his name. There is some anomaly in the 69 percent reservation. For example, Puluva Goundars were in the BC, Vettuvagoundars in MBC and Vettuvagoundars in Tiruchi and Pudukottai districts are in denotified community. It is against social justice that a same caste were present in different category. So, TN government should conduct a caste wise survey and give reservation benefit according to their population. The 3 different categories of the caste should be clubbed to give a community certificate in the common name of Vettuva Goundars with MBC status. Though Vettuva Goundars were in large number in the Kongu region, they didn't get their due share in politics. Due to some authoritarian forces, they were not able to visit their Kula Deivam Temples. So, it decided to annexe similar communities which were denied due political recognition to create a political movement to get their representatives in politics. It appealed to the government to include the excluded tanks and ponds in the Perundurai, Avinasi, Nambiyur, and Bavanisagar blocks in the Athikadavu-Avinasi water project 2. It sought irrigation facility from Moyar river to the dry lands allotted for those who gave away their lands for construction of Bavanisagar dam near Sathy forest area. It wanted a memorial for King Chozha Kongalvan, who built Kodiveri dam near Gobi, near dam site and government function to celebrate his birthday. It decided to celebrate the King Valvil  Ori Vizha at Kollimalai in grand manner on Aadi 18.
