Kongunadu Arts and Science College (KASC), Coimbatore, Teesside University, Middlesbrough, UK, and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, jointly organised the 2nd International Conference on Socioeconomic Impact of Pollution in Water Bodies and Remedial Measures (ICPWRM-2025) as part of the Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC), a Government of India initiative.

Dr. C. A. Vasuki, Secretary and Director gave the Presidential Address and subsequently released the souvenir. In her speech, she established a connection between the Tamil tradition of thirupaavai pasuram and the scientific principles involved in sustaining water resources.
Special address was delivered by Prof. Sundaram Senthilarasu, Organizing Secretary Professor of Sustainable Energy Materials, Teesside University, UK highlighting the importance of conducting the meet.
Dr. S. Paulsamy, Convenor of the Indian Science Congress Association, Coimbatore Chapter highlighted the means of pollution in all rivers in India.
He gave a few statistical details and focused on argumenting both river water and ground water in India.and Dr. A. Raviraj, Dean of Agricultural Engineering at the Agricultural College Research Institute, TNAU in his special address emphasized the sustainable utilisation of ground water management and the stark reality of awaiting water scarcity which the present youth going to face through the intergration of surface water and River water resources.
Key note Address was delivered by Dr. David Hughes, Professor and Associate Dean (Research & Innovation), Centre for Sustainable Engineering, Teesside University, elucidating the introduction of NZIIC and emphasising the integration of sustainability in recycling practices and the reduction of water consumption to demonstrate effective water usage.
