Arulmigu Gowmara Madalayam in Chinnavedampatti, Coimbatore, a revered 200-year-old institution, will host the Guru Worship Day Festival on July 21. Known for its spiritual leadership and contributions to literature, education, and social unity, the madalayam is led by Thavathiru Kumaragurupara Swamigal.
In a recent interview, Dr. K Kumaraswamy, co-founder of Coimbatore Kalaivani Educational Institutions, highlighted the madalayam's rich history. He praised past leaders like Kandaswamy Swamigal and Gaja Poojai Sundara Swamigal, and noted Kumaragurupara Swamigal’s significant contributions over the past 30 years.
Arulmigu Gowmara Madalayam is not only a spiritual haven but also a beacon of education and social service. Devotees from across the country follow the path shown by their Guru. The annual Guru Vanakkam Day ceremony, a tradition where devotees gather to pay respects and receive blessings, will begin at 7:00 AM and conclude at 5:00 PM on July 21.
The event will be presided over by Manickam, Chairman of Sakthi Group, with notable guests including Dr. Nalla Palanisamy, President of KMCH, and Vanitha Mohan from Sirutuli. Distinguished attendees such as Dr. Matheswaran, President of Royal Care Hospital, and Shankar Vanavarayar, Correspondent of Kumaraguru College of Engineering and Technology, will also be present.
The festival will feature engaging activities like speeches, an orchestra, a magic show, dance performances, and traditional Vallikummi. Additionally, a free eye screening camp, a blood screening camp, a nutritional food awareness camp, and a book fair will provide valuable services to devotees.
Dr. Kumaraswamy emphasised the festival's significance, stating that worshipping the Guru brings immense benefits and helps reduce ancestral burdens.
