Food festival began in CBE

The district collector Kranthi Kumar Pati and city police commissioner V Balakrishnan inaugurated the food festival that was organized as a part of Kovai Vizha in the city. 
To showcase the cultural and tradition of the city, the festival was organized annually in the city. 
As a part of it, the food festival – Taste of Coimbatore - was organized by hoteliers’ association at Codissia trade fair complex ground in the city. 
The festival would be conducted for three days and over 150 food varieties would be prepared during the event. 
Further, folk dances like Kuyilattam, Paraiyattam and Thappattam were organized. 
Foods were distributed to over 100 destitute, differently-abled people and 
orphans.
