An egg shop worker died in a collision with a private bus in Coimbatore. Murugan (50), from Mettupalayam Jadayampalayam, worked in an egg company and was delivering eggs to shops near Karamadai Raviram marriage hall.

Yesterday evening, Murugan lost his life when a private bus traveling from Coimbatore to Mettupalayam struck him. The CCTV footage of the accident has gone viral on social media.

In the same incident, Bhupal (29), son of Nagaraj from Poonampalayam in Karamadai, was thrown from his two-wheeler and is now being treated for serious injuries at Mettupalayam Government Hospital.

The Karamadai police have registered a case and are investigating the accident.

Members of the public have expressed concerns over the high-speed and reckless driving of both private and government buses on this road, leading to frequent accidents and fatalities. They highlighted that private buses, in particular, often drive at high speeds to adhere to tight schedules, contributing to the danger on the Mettupalayam-Coimbatore road.
