Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin inaugurated skill and employment centres under the Naan Mudhalvan scheme via video conference from Coimbatore on December 18. The centres, established at 31 government engineering colleges, including Coimbatore and Salem, were set up at a cost of ₹30.62 crore.
Following the virtual launch, a special event was held at the Government Engineering College in Karuppur, Salem. The Salem District Collector, Dr. R. Brindha Devi, along with college students, participated in the programme.
The Naan Mudhalvan scheme, introduced by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, aims to equip school and college students, as well as youth, with advanced skills and career guidance to ensure success in academics and life.
As part of the initiative, modern skill development training is being provided to enhance employability, with continuous measures undertaken to facilitate job opportunities. At the Karuppur centre, students actively participated in skill development sessions, which were also reviewed by Dr. Brindha Devi.
