Following the launch of the Chief Minister’s ambitious scheme.“Ungalai Thedi Ungal Ooril (Looking for You, In Your Village),” on Wednessday, the Salem District collector R. Brinda Devi took part in the camp initated in Mettur Taluk.
The camp which aims to ensure accessibility to basic facilities and resolve specific grievances will be held across 48 villages, 7 municipalities, and one municipality in the Mettur Taluk. The project camp kicked off with government officials divided into various groups. From 9 am onwards, they visited schools, Anganwadi centers, primary health centers, and fair price shops across the entire region.
The outreach also includes inspections of street lights in the evening, followed by assessments of water supply, cleanliness works, and the implementation of the Chief Minister's breakfast plan the next morning. A team of 220 government officials is working to execute these tasks. District collector emphasized the identification and resolution of specific issues requiring special attention. As part of the initiative, all eligible petitions received during the camp will be processed and resolved promptly.
The event witnessed the presence of key officials, including Mettur Assembly Member Mr. S. Sathasivam, Additional Collector (Development) of District Rural Development Agency Dr. Alarmel Mangai, District Revenue Officer Dr. P. Maneka, Mettur Sub-Collector Ms. N. Ponmani, Special Deputy Collector (Social Security Scheme) Ms. A. Mayil, Panchayat President Mrs. Sukanti Palaniswami and other concerned government officials.
