The Nilgiris District Collector Ms. Lakshmi Bhavya Thanneeru inaugurated the Diwali sales in the Co-Optex showrooms, Ooty on Tuesday.
She  told reporters Co-optex has been procuring clothes produced by the weavers of Tamil Nadu in various parts of Tamil Nadu for the past 89 years and supplying them all over India. It markets through outlets and helps the weavers. Co-optex has traditionally been involved in silk production.


30% special discount will be given from 15.09.2024 on handloom items for sale at all outlets of Co-Optex.  As a new initiative, hand-painted embroidered shawls, rugs and stoles, table runners, produced by the Thoda people, a specialty of Ooty, are being sold for Diwali - 2024 special sale.


Last year Diwali sales was Rs.55.35 lakh. Currently, the sales target is Rs.75 lakh. 
Co-optex Regional Manager Ms. Amsaveni, Senior Manager ( Distribution) Mr. Jaganathan, Utagai showroom Manager Ms. Sabina Naas and Co-Optex Officials were present.
