Christmas celebrations took place with great joy and reverence at Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women on 
Dec 20. 
Embodying the ideals of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda, who advocated harmony among all religions, the annual Christmas celebrations have become a cherished tradition in the institution.  
The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor Dr. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Registrar        Dr H.Indu and Deans and Directors of various Schools of the Institution. Dr. Sr.Arul Seeli,          Vice Principal (Retd.) Nirmala College, Provincial, Ravel Province, Coimbatore, delivered the keynote 
address. 
Dr. Seeli emphasized the importance of unity and living a life that is not dominated by the internet but focused on human connection. 

Dr. H.Indu, Registrar, addressed the audience and spoke about the significance of the Christmas tree and said that the message of Christmas is the celebration of love, life, and happiness. 
Dr.M.Sylvia Subapriya, Professor and Head, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, welcomed the gathering and Dr S.Kalamani, Professor of English thanked the gathering.
