All breed dog show to be held in Coimbatore on June 22nd and 23rd

The Covai Manchester Kennel Club, affiliated with the Kennel Club of India, is set to host its inaugural All Breed Championship Dog Show on June 23, 2024. This prestigious event will take place at the Hindustan College of Arts and Science Auditorium Ground near Nava India Signal, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.
The show will feature purebred dogs from various breeds, showcasing their beauty, grace, and unique abilities. The event aims to celebrate the human-canine bond and the rich diversity of dog breeds, providing a platform for the finest pedigree specimens.
Renowned judges CV Sudarsan from Chennai and Yashodhara from Bangalore, both qualified international judges, will evaluate the dogs based on official breed standards. They will assess overall structure, coat, colour, movement, presentation, and performance.
Dogs will compete in 11 categories: Pastoral, Working Dogs, Terriers, Dachshunds, Spitz Varieties, Scent Hounds, Pointing Dogs and Setters, Retrievers, Flushing and Water Dogs, Toy and Companion, Sight Hounds, and Indian Native Breeds. The top 21 dogs will be selected from these groups, with the pinnacle of the event being the Best in Show competition, awarding placements from first to eighth.
Additional awards include Best Puppy in Show, Best Indian Breed, Best in Show Bred in India, Best Handler, and Best Junior Handler. The event promises an extraordinary celebration of canine excellence, responsible breeding, and pet care, inviting dog enthusiasts to enjoy a day filled with joy and camaraderie.
