She was admitted to the Gem Hospital for treatment on June 16. Dr. KL Sathishkumar, a gastroenterologist at the hospital, diagnosed her and found that she was suffering with low levels of red blood cells and platelets in her blood for years due to inflammation of the spleen.
So, on June 19, Yogambal underwent surgery and the spleen was removed. The spleen, which should weigh an average of 250 grams, has 2.5 kg weight in the woman's body. Only 4 out of 100,000 people have this problem due to genetics. She is now in good health. Dr. K.L.
