Tamil Nadu Post Graduate Teachers' Association staged a demonstration in front of the Erode CEO office on Friday demanding the establishment of a separate Directorate of HSS Education. 

 District president of the association Sudha Kumar said: Post-graduate teachers have only one promotion in 20 years. Hence Deputy -Inspectors of Schools, Additional Personal Assistant to Chief Education Officer, District Assistance Director posts should be given as promotion posts. A committee should be formed to address their grievances regarding low wages despite more educational qualifications. The salary discrepancies of the teachers who joined the service after 2009 should be removed. As per the old practice, income tax has to be deducted. Postgraduate teachers are sent to students for NEET coaching during summer vacation. No incentives are provided for it. To continue the work in the next academic year with renewed vigor summer vacation should be given. Teachers should be engaged only in teaching and learning tasks. Higher education qualification should be restored.  Association administrators Subashini, Revathi, Prabhakaran, Subbulakshmi, Parimalam Ilangovan, Venkatesan, Ranjith, Kumar, Prakasam, Mani, Ilango and others were present.
