Underweight twins were admitted to the Erode District Government General Hospital due to respiratory distress and were given excellent treatment. 
For Gomathi - Damodaran couple of Iron Bridge, Paramathi Vellore Taluk, Namakkal District, the twins were born on 02.09.2024 at a private hospital in Erode.
Very low birth weight twin girls (first baby – 940gm and second baby – 680gm) were born at 27 weeks. Since the day of birth, both the children were suffering from suffocation disorder and were being treated for it. Two days later, at the request of the couple, the twins were admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Erode District Government Head Hospital from a private hospital on 04.09.2024.
It was being given intensive treatment. 
Due to the intensive treatment given to the admitted twins, the condition of both the children has improved and their body weight has increased. Currently the weight of the two babies is 1.70 kg first child and 1.050 kg second child. The mother and two female children underwent treatment for 69 days and were sent home on 11.11.2024 in good health in the presence of the medical team. Gomati, mother of the children, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister for providing such excellent medical service in the government hospital.
