The city-based Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (PSBB) and Tirunelveli-based Pushpalatha matriculation higher secondary school make a big win at national quiz and project competition organized by Shiv Nadar University in the city.
The competition – EduQuest – is a flagship programme conducted for students in classes between IX and XII. It is aimed at offering a glimpse into university life by conducting diverse events like ProjectX and QuBiz. It offers prizes and scholarships worth Rs 10 lakhs.
Of the 200 teams participating in ProjectX, the team comprising S Naren Rajasekhar, M Senthil Kumar and M Vishal from Pushpalatha matriculation higher secondary school secured the first place and bagged a cash prize worth Rs 25,000. While Akshat Garg and Bhaskar Singh from Jayashree Periwal international school in Jaipur secured the second place, Yellow train school in Coimbatore bagged the third place with the cash prize of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000.
Similarly, a team comprising R Shyam Sundar and Arjun Vaidhyanathan from PSBB secured the first place and won a cash prize worth Rs 25,000 in QuBiz competition. While Harshad R and Chaitanya R from AMM school secured the second place, DAV public school secured the third place with the cash prize of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000.
The event was hosted by quizmaster M Rangarajan, CEO of Mindgames. In the valedictory function, prizes were distributed to the winners by Sriman Kumar Bhattacharyya, vice-chancellor of the university, Nallusamy, registrar, Venugopal, professor, Parthasarathi Neogi, head of admissions and Samuel Giftson, manager of marketing and outreach department.
