Erode District Thevar Peravai, affiliated to TN Thevar Peravai, appealed to the government to erect freedom fighter Pasumpon Thevar statue in Erode PS Park.
The peravai district president P Selvaraj, secretary Priya K Alagesan, Avai Thalaivar A Arjuna Thevar, legal advisor BM Boss Murugan, and treasurer C Palpandi attended the peravai's 35th prize distribution function to toppers in plus 2 and SSLC students at a function held at Erode on Sunday.
At the event, the peravai leaders demanded naming of the upcoming Erode central bus stand at Solar, Erode, which could accommodate south bound buses, after Thevar, construct a memorial for Karuppa Servai, lieutenant of freedom fighter Deeran Chinnamalai and enforce the norm of erecting name boards in Tamil in all establisments, shops and institutions.
