Ministers inaugurate textile workers welfare project in Tiruppur

Minister of Social Welfare and Women's Rights Mrs. P. Geetha Jeevan and Minister of Human Resource Management Mrs. N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj inaugurated the district level project of textile federation to strengthen the safety and gender equality of women in textile and garment industries in the state inTirupur on Thursday.
Mrs. Jayashree Muralitharan, State Secretary, Social Welfare and Women's Rights Department, Mrs. Amudavalli, State Secretary, Handloom, Handicrafts, Textiles and Khadar Department, Mrs. R. Lilly, Commissioner (Social Welfare Department) District Collector Mr. T Kristhuraj  Mr. Don Seymour, Director, United Nations Organization for Gender Equality, India (Strategic Partnership Unit) United Nations Gender Equality representative Mrs. Susan Ferguson, were present.
Subsequently, the Ministers distributed sewing machines valued at Rs.75,000/- to 15 beneficiaries under the District Collector's Discretionary Fund on behalf of the Social Welfare Department. In this event, United Nations Gender Equality Organization Program Manager Mrs. Preetha Jaiseelan, State Coordinator Mrs. Naria Juns, District Social Welfare Officer Mrs. Ranjitadevi, and NGOs participated in the event
