The MedEngage Annual Summit 2024, hosted by the Metropolis Foundation, is a CSR initiative designed to nurture young medical talent in India. The program, designed by Metropolis Chairman Dr.Sushil Shah, offers comprehensive guidance, support, and direction to emerging healthcare professionals. At the summit, 301 medical students were awarded scholarships worth INR 1.7 crore, with 29 students receiving research grants. The scholarships were awarded to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students across all MBBS education years, including postgraduate training years of MD/MS/DNB, and the intervening internship year.
Key government officials from Tamil Nadu, including Mr. Kumar Jayant, I.A.S., Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Labour Welfare, and Skill Development Department, and Dr. P. Shanmugapriya, MD., Associate Professor of Microbiology, Nodal Officer (e-Governance) at Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Tamil Nadu, graced the event as Chief Dignitaries. The MedEngage Scholarship program aims to bridge the gap between financial constraints and skill gaps in India, empowering future healthcare experts and fostering a healthier, more resilient society. The program also provides hands-on experience and practical knowledge through Metropolis' state-of-the-art laboratories nationwide, as well as opportunities like Observership Programs, Academic Research Support, Laboratory Tours, Internships, and MedTalk webinars.
