After a violent clash in June 2020, India and China's border tensions have persisted for four years. Recently, an agreement was reached to resume patrolling in border control areas.
During the bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the BRICS conference the two leaders welcomed the India-China agreement reached a few days before the conference.
Following this, the Indian soldiers and China security men have started systematically withdrawing the weapons to their rear quarters in their respective areas.
It is seen as a major victory in ending years of military conflict.
