The upcoming state legislative assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are significant as they are the first since the region's special status was revoked. Rahul Gandhi has visited the region, securing an alliance with the National Conference Party and discussing seat-sharing, which strengthens the INDIA alliance. The CPI(M) has also joined this alliance. The Congress is focused on limiting the BJP's success to 20 seats. However, the National Conference Party's election manifesto includes controversial proposals, such as renaming  Hari/Shankaracharya Hill and advocating for talks with Pakistan to reduce conflicts.

If the Congress takes up the issue of abrogation of Article 370, the BJP will take up the controversial promises of the National Conference Party as a response. With that, Home Minister Amit Shah has started bashing the Congress.

Out of total 90 constituencies, 47 seats are in Kashmir and 43 seats are in Jammu. The BJP is determined to win all 30 Hindu-dominated constituencies in the Jammu region anyway.

As for Kashmir, there are reports that the BJP plans to contest only 25 assembly constituencies in the valley. In the remaining 22 seats, the BJP has decided to support candidates from independents and local parties.
In this way, the BJP and the INDIA alliance have formulated strategies and are ready to enter the field.
Elections are held after 10 years. This is the first election to be held after it was declared as a Union Territory. In any situation, elections in Jammu and Kashmir are welcome!
