GKNM Hospital marked its 72nd Founders Day with a tribute to its visionary founders, celebrating decades of dedication to healthcare in Coimbatore. Established in 1952 as a 50-bed mother and child hospital, GKNM has grown into a 650-bed super-speciality hospital, symbolising hope, healing, and progress.
The recent addition of a New Integrated Outpatient Centre, spanning 3.3 lakh square feet and covering 30 specialties with 200 doctors, stands as the first of its kind in the country. This development aligns with GKNM's objective of delivering top-tier patient care, supported by modern medical equipment ensuring accurate diagnoses and optimal treatment.
The hospital offers advanced technologies like the Da Vinci robotic system for robot-assisted surgeries and provides comprehensive healthcare services from primary to tertiary levels. GKNM's facilities include well-equipped intensive care units, advanced operation theatres, a 24/7 emergency department for adults and children, and state-of-the-art laboratory and imaging services.
GKNM also extends its reach with home health services in Coimbatore and rural health services in Veerapandi. The 72nd Founders Day celebration, held on June 29, 2024, at Nani Palkhivala Auditorium, Mani Higher Secondary School, honoured the founders' legacy and recognized the selfless service of doctors and staff with Distinguished Service Awards, Performance Excellence Awards, and Meritorious Service Awards.
