In preparation for the forthcoming Lok Sabha General Election in Salem district to ensure free and fair polling confirming tot the Election Commission’s guidelines, a crucal meeting was convened on April 17, 2024, at the District Collectorate, led by General Election Observer Mr. G.P. Patil, regarding randomnisation of micro observers

In the presence of District Election Officer and District Collector Dr. R Brindadevi, With the polling day slated for April 19, 2024, meticulous planning and allocation of responsibilities took center stage during the assembly. Mr. G.P. Patil, overseeing the election process, orchestrated the computerized assignment of duties for a substantial cohort of officers. A total of 16,092 officers, comprising Chief Polling Officers and 3 Polling Station Officers, were meticulously distributed to serve across 250 sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations nestled within the 11 assembly constituencies of Salem district. 

Furthermore, the comprehensive plan encompassed the deployment of Chief Polling Officers and 3 Polling Officers to man 3,260 polling centers scattered across Salem district on the pivotal day of polling. The gathering witnessed the  participation of key officials, including District Revenue Officer Dr. P. Menaka, Assistant District Collector (General) Mr. M. Jaganathan, Assistant District Collector (Elections) Mr. A. Sivasubramanian, alongside other pertinent officers vested in ensuring the seamless execution of electoral procedures.
