Divyodaya Inter-Religious Centre in Coimbatore marked a momentous occasion on 1st August with a grand celebration to commemorate 'The Sangamam-2024,' marking the 45th Foundation Day of Divyodaya and the Anniversary of the Peace and Harmony Club.
Fr. Wilson Chakkyath CMI gave the welcome note, highlighting the importance of being united in promoting peace and harmony in young minds and society as a whole. The day was blessed by various religious leaders, including Bp Timothy Ravinder, Bishop of CSI Coimbatore Diocese; Perur Adheenam Thavathiru Shanthalinga Marudhasala Adigalar, represented by Arjun; M Abdul Hakim, Secretary of Jamaat E Islami Hind Coimbatore; Motilal Rathore, a committee member of the Sri Jain Coimbatore Sangh; and Gurpreet Singh, President of Gurudwara Coimbatore. These leaders shared their profound insights on fostering peace and interfaith dialogues.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of young Peace Ambassadors from various schools in Coimbatore and different parts of Tamil Nadu. They were honoured for their remarkable efforts throughout the year 2023-24 for the cause of peace and harmony. Trinity Matriculation Hr Sec School, Ramanathapuram, and Lisieux Matric Hr Sec School, Saibaba Colony, bagged the award for the outstanding Peace and Harmony Club among the schools.
This event marked an achievement of Divyodaya's ongoing commitment to promoting peace and harmony among people of different religions and cultures.
