The Nilgiris District Returning Officer and District Collector M Aruna conducted the initial randomization of 240 voting machines used for Nilgiri (R) Parliamentary Constituency in the presence of candidates and all recognized political party dignitaries at the Collectorate on Monday. 
As 16 candidates are contesting, additional 240 EVMs were brought from Erode District, Perundurai Voting Machine Warehouse on 02.04.2024 and installed in the Voting Machine Warehouse at District Collector's Additional Office.
Later, on 06.04.2024, a preliminary verification was carried out by engineers of Bell Company. Today, the District Election Officer and District Collector visited the initial randomization of 240 voting machines used for the Constituency in the presence of candidates and all recognized political party leaders.
The voting machines will be sent to the assembly segments in the district. Additional Collector (Development) Mr. Kaushik  Assistant Returning Officers and RDOs Mr. Maharaj (Utagai), Mr. Satish (Coonoor), Mr. Senthilkumar (Gudalur), District Collector Perdonal Assistant; (Election) Mr. Suresh Kannan, Electronic Voting Machine Officer Mr. Tamilmani, District Election Officer Mr. Srinivasan, all District Officers, candidates and recognized political party officials were present.
